NextMovie’s Oscar Picks: Actor And Supporting Actor

Posted by Efas 2010 Celebrity News on February 21, 2012

Oscar predictions are well under way here at MTV. By which we mean, the arguing, the smack talk, the rare points of agreement, but really just the arguing and the smack talk has been consuming all of our show-obsessed brains in the lead up to the February 26 ceremony.

While we blaze forth in this spirit at MTV Movies, our friends over at NextMovie invited me over for their own series of Oscar prediction videos. Hit the jump to check out our picks for Best Actor and Best At the bottom of Actor.

In the first preview piece, NextMovie senior editor Brooke Tarnoff and I mix it up over the Best Actor category. She’s a fan of “Artist” star Jean Dujardin, I favor that silent film’s Jack Russell Terrier, and we both mourn the exclusion of Michael Fassbender’s, well, just watch the video.

In the next clip, NextMovie executive editor Kevin Polowy and senior editor Breanne L. Heldman dive into the at the bottom of actor category. They both agree “Beginners” star Christopher Plummer is the odds-on favorite to win the catgeory, while they crying the snub Oscar voters laid down at the feet of “Aggravate Potter” star Alan Rickman. Check it out.

The MTV Movies team has the 2012 Oscars roofed! Stick with us for everything you need to know leading up to the awards show, and on Sunday, February 25, tune into MTV.com at 5:30 p.m. ET for our three-hour red-carpet live stream and updates on the night’s huge winners.
